This policy explains what Skincare Season collects when you visit skincareseason.com, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
What is collected
- Comments. When you leave a comment, the site stores what you wrote, the name and email you entered, your IP address and your browser user agent string. The last two are kept for spam detection.
- Analytics. Aggregate, non-identifying data about which pages are read, how people arrived, and roughly where in the world they are. This is used to decide what to write next.
- Cookies. If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email and website in a cookie so you do not have to type them again. These last one year.
What is not collected
No accounts, no newsletters you did not ask for, and no payment details. Nothing on this site takes a card number. Personal data is never sold, rented or traded.
Embedded content
Articles may embed videos from YouTube. Embedded content behaves exactly as if you had visited that site directly, which means the provider may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with the embed. That is their policy, not this one, and it is worth reading theirs if it matters to you.
Affiliate links
Some outbound product links are affiliate links. Clicking one may set a cookie from the retailer so any resulting purchase is attributed correctly. The retailer’s own privacy policy governs what happens after you leave this site.
How long data is kept
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up replies can be recognised and approved automatically rather than held in a queue. For anyone who comments, you can request to see, export or delete the personal data held about you at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. Erasure does not cover data that has to be kept for legal, security or administrative reasons. To make any of these requests, use the contact page.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but the amount of personal data here is deliberately small, which is the most effective protection available.
